Beyond Boundaries

Curated by Péjú Oshin
Tate Modern, Bankside, London | 2021

Five young and emerging artists were commissioned to create new artworks across London’s Bankside neighbourhood, encouraging the public to reconnect with the world, with art, and with each other.

Beyond Boundaries invited audiences to play, rest, think, and explore collectively and individually. Conceived in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project sought to promote wellbeing, hope, and renewal through creative engagement in shared spaces.

The artworks, situated throughout the local community, explored ideas of identity, belonging, and self-expression through a wide range of media — from painting and sculpture to sound and digital art.
